As a dad, coach, and long-time resident, I know firsthand how much our families pour into youth sports, late nights, early mornings, and countless hours cheering on our kids. You work hard, and you deserve a Parks & Recreation Youth Sports Department that works just as hard for you.

That’s why I’m committed to strengthening Helena’s youth sports now and for the future.
✅ Immediate Improvements These are quick wins, low-cost or no-cost fixes, that can make a big difference right away:
Launch a user-friendly weather & scheduling system for clear communication.
Build on Parks & Rec social media for real-time updates.
Commit to 24-hour response times for all Parks & Rec inquiries.
Establish a parent volunteer board with balanced representation across all sports.
Enable digital payment options at concessions and gates.
Explore hosting baseball & softball tournaments to support Helena’s economy.
Foster stronger coordination between high school coaches & youth leagues.
Host Opening Day ceremonies for spring & fall sports to bring families together.
These aren’t expensive ideas; they’re common-sense solutions that came from listening to you.
🌟 Long-Term Vision
Helena is growing, and so are the needs of our young athletes. But growth must come with purpose and transparency.
That’s why I am excited that the temporary pause I have called for at the proposed Coalmont/Hillsboro sports complex project has been implemented. Not to stop progress, but to ensure we’re doing it the right way:
The site includes a former landfill, raising environmental and financial concerns.
Costs are being driven up by remediation and site prep.
We must ask: Are we getting the best value for our bond dollars?
My commitment is to:
Stretch every dollar to build real fields, amenities, and programs across Helena.
Ensure public transparency at every step, every dollar, every plan.
Invite community input before making final decisions.
Provide legal and financial clarity around bonds and contracts.
Establish City Council oversight for major projects.
Helena deserves thoughtful planning, open communication, and leadership that listens. Rushed decisions have caused mistrust in the past; that ends now.

I would be honored to receive your vote on Tuesday, August 26th, for Mayor.
