Truck Time with Billy: Faith, Family, & Community

In his latest Truck Time, mayoral candidate Billy Rosener took a break from policy talk to share something more personal: his faith and family.

Billy began by thanking everyone who attended last Thursday’s Town Hall hosted by the Shelby County Reporter. With the highest turnout of any municipality so far, the event gave residents the chance to hear directly from candidates about their vision for Helena.

Billy shared a story from the weekend while out walking in a Helena neighborhood. A resident stopped to talk and after a long conversation, asked Billy if he was a Christian. Billy answered “Absolutely.” But the man’s feedback stuck with him: “After 11 months of campaigning, I shouldn’t have to ask.”

That moment hit home. Billy explained that while his faith is deeply important to him, he’s been careful not to use it in a way that could feel disingenuous or political. He and his wife Allie raised their children in church and currently attend The Station Church in Bessemer, where they’ve been members since 2020.

One of the unexpected blessings of this campaign has been the way it has strengthened both Billy and Allie’s faith. He says he has never felt closer to God than during this journey, seeing His hand and presence guiding them through each step.

The campaign has also brought Billy and Allie closer together, strengthening their marriage in ways they didn’t anticipate when this all began. Billy calls that blessing one of the greatest outcomes of this entire process, regardless of the election’s result.

Billy closed by reminding residents that faith and family remain at the heart of who he is, and that his commitment to Helena comes from the same foundation.

He would be humbled and honored to earn your vote on August 26.
