To my fellow citizens,
Over the past nine months, I have had the incredible privilege of walking alongside so many of you, hearing your hopes, learning your concerns, and listening to your ideas for the future of our great city. These conversations have been the heartbeat of my campaign, and they will continue to shape how I lead, should I have the honor of serving you as your next mayor.
In that same spirit of openness and transparency, I am calling for an Open Forum of all City of Helena Mayoral Candidates, an event that allows you, the citizens of Helena, to hear directly from those seeking to lead our city.
I propose this forum be hosted by an independent third party, such as the Shelby County Reporter, and held at a central, accessible location like Helena High School or the Helena Sports Complex building. The format can be developed and mutually agreed upon by each campaign involved.
To ensure the forum is informative, fair, and reflective of the community’s priorities, I propose a mix of:
Pre-submitted questions made available to candidates in advance for thoughtful responses, and
Live, undisclosed questions submitted by Helena citizens directly to the third-party host. These would remain secure until the forum and verified to ensure they come from Helena residents.
This event would be another important step in engaging our community and giving you the opportunity to meet, evaluate, and question the individuals who seek to represent you.
I believe that leadership begins with listening, and I will never stop doing just that. I’ve intentionally included my personal cell phone number in nearly every communication I’ve shared, and that commitment to direct, open communication will continue long after this election. If you ever have a question, concern, or simply want to share your vision for Helena, you can always reach me at (205) 482-7741.
Let’s continue building a better Helena together!
