𝗟𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝗧𝗮𝗹𝗸 𝗔𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 & 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻

Today, I’m keeping it short and straight to the point. To be honest, just watch and listen to the entire Truck Time.

Let’s talk about something that comes up a lot during campaigns: Facebook, its strengths, its limits, and how I’m choosing to engage.

💡 𝗦𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝗹 𝗠𝗲𝗱𝗶𝗮: 𝗔 𝗨𝘀𝗲𝗳𝘂𝗹 𝗧𝗼𝗼𝗹… 𝗪𝗶𝘁𝗵 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗹 𝗟𝗶𝗺𝗶𝘁𝘀

I genuinely believe social media has value.

✅ It’s a great platform to share information

✅ It helps get important messages out quickly

But here’s the thing: Facebook is not a good place for meaningful, thoughtful debate.

It’s like texting: it’s fine for short replies, but if a conversation goes back and forth too much, I’d rather pick up the phone and have a real conversation. 𝙄𝙩’𝙨 𝙘𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙚𝙧, 𝙛𝙖𝙨𝙩𝙚𝙧, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙢𝙤𝙧𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙥𝙚𝙘𝙩𝙛𝙪𝙡.

🏷 Being Tagged Everywhere? It’s Tough to Keep Up. I get tagged in a ton of posts, and I totally understand why people want my input.

But truthfully, it’s impossible to keep up with every tag, reply, and thread across multiple pages and closed groups.

🚫 Community Pages & Divisiveness

Many of our local pages have unfortunately turned into places where:

• Conversations get heated fast

• Neighbors turn against neighbors

• Name-calling and finger-pointing become the norm

• Not everyone has access to the groups

If I’m tagged in one of those threads, you likely won’t see me jump in. Not because I’m avoiding the issue, but because those environments don’t lead to real solutions.

I have never done that before, and staying true to who I am, I am not going to start now.

📬 I answer messages, return calls, and show up

𝗧𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲’𝘀 𝗻𝗼 𝗹𝗮𝗰𝗸 𝗼𝗳 𝗮𝗰𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗼 𝗺𝗲 𝗼𝗿 𝗺𝘆 𝘁𝗵𝗼𝘂𝗴𝗵𝘁𝘀. But I won’t spend my day answering the same baited questions 6–8 times on different pages that not all of our community has access to. That’s not productive, and it’s not respectful to the thousands of other voters in Helena.

👨‍💼 I Work Full-Time, and Serve Full-Time

I work 35–40 hours a week as a financial consultant, and I give the rest of my time to this community and campaign.

𝙏𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚’𝙨 𝙣𝙤 𝙡𝙖𝙘𝙠 𝙤𝙛 𝙖𝙘𝙘𝙚𝙨𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙢𝙚 𝙤𝙧 𝙢𝙮 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙪𝙜𝙝𝙩𝙨.𝙄’𝙢 𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄 𝙘𝙖𝙧𝙚, 𝙖𝙣𝙙 𝙗𝙚𝙘𝙖𝙪𝙨𝙚 𝙄’𝙢 𝙬𝙤𝙧𝙠𝙞𝙣𝙜 𝙝𝙖𝙧𝙙 𝙩𝙤 𝙚𝙖𝙧𝙣 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙫𝙤𝙩𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙗𝙚 𝙮𝙤𝙪𝙧 𝙣𝙚𝙭𝙩 𝙈𝙖𝙮𝙤𝙧.

So that’s where I stand. It won’t please everyone, and that’s okay.
